Orthopedic Rehabilitation

Orthopedic conditions, such as, amputations (link to Conditions/amputations), hip and knee replacements and fractures (link to Conditions treated/fractures) can hinder a person's once active lifestyle. Older adults are particularly vulnerable to orthopedic conditions because of weakened bones, lost muscle mass and complications stemming from adult onset diabetes, but they may occur in people of all ages.
 Inpatient Orthopedic Services provided include:

  • Physician services
  • Inpatient physical and occupational therapy
  • Rehabilitation nursing
  • Case management
  • Skin Care
  • Wound Care
  • Patient and family education
  • Preprosthetic management
  • Sports and leisure programs

    Orthopedic clients who complete the inpatient program or those who referred to an outpatient program are welcome to utilize Walton's outpatient and wellness services, which include:

  • Physician services
  • Inpatient physical and occupational therapy
  • Amputee clinic
  • Aquatic therapy
  • Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program
  • Rehab Plus exercise program
  • Vestibular and Balance Program

    Residential options are also available for clients with physical disabilities seeking accessible housing. The goal of all services is to help the client gain greater independence.
