After researching the need for accessible, affordable housing in the Augusta, Georgia area, Walton Community Services began to collaborate with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to build residential options to meet the needs of people with physical disabilities.

Nestled throughout the community, where available, residential options are conveniently located near public transportation lines that allow clients to have easy access to work, school, shopping or other daily activities.

Housing features include wheelchair accessible kitchens, roll-in showers, visual doorbells for the hearing-impaired and visual smoke detectors for the visual/hearing impaired. In addition, some apartment units feature two bedrooms to accommodate the needs of a family with an adult member with a disability.

Rent for the facilities is based upon 30 percent of the renter's income.

All apartments are available on a first come, first serve basis. In addition, residents must meet HUD guidelines.
