1. Rehabilitation Program:
Is the hospital a specialized provider of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation?
Yes. In fact, Walton Rehabilitation Health System is the only comprehensive specialized provider of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the CSRA.
Are its programs comprehensive in their continuum of care?
Yes. It has been Walton’s mission to provide the most comprehensive care to its patients and clients. Choosing Walton for rehabilitation can mean progress, independence and hope. Our Complete Rehabilitation Spectrum can greatly enhance your recovery. The spectrum consists of our Inpatient Rehabilitation Program, Outpatient Rehabilitation Program, Community Re-Entry, Pain and Headache Management, Fitness and Leisure, and Assisted/Independent Living. Good news: patients can enter the spectrum at any of the points and proceed toward their goals.
Are its programs accredited?
Yes. Walton Rehabilitation Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in the areas of hospital comprehensive integrated inpatient rehabilitation programs. CARF also awarded specialty accreditations in the comprehensive integrated inpatient and outpatient brain injury rehabilitation programs and the residential brain injury program.
How successful are the treatment programs? Will I return home?
The patient’s return home depends on a variety of factors, including the complexity of the patient’s condition and the cohesiveness of the rehabilitation process. Walton normally treats a large number of challenging patients; however, 3 out 4 of them are discharged home.
Will my treatment team specialize in my diagnosis area (Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Brain Injury, Orthopedics, etc.)?
Yes. A team of rehabilitation experts who specialize in your diagnosis area will work closely with you and your family to help you reach your rehabilitation goals.
Will my treatment team be led by a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician?
Yes. The treatment team is led by a physician, who is certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Will my family be involved in my treatment program?
Yes. Your immediate family members and/or caregivers are encouraged to observe and participate in your ongoing therapy sessions. This will help them understand the rehabilitation process. Prior to discharge, your case manager will arrange a formal session of family training with your family and the therapy team. This will better prepare them to assist you when you leave Walton.
Does the hospital participate in research?
Yes. Walton is actively developing the next generation of assistive technology and conducting various clinical trials through the collaborative efforts between Walton Technologies and Walton Rehabilitation Health System. Beginning with new and improved wheelchairs to assistive robotics, our patients and clients will be among the first to benefit from these new and exciting products.

Does the Pain Center offer a multi-disciplinary approach to treating pain?
Yes. The Walton Pain Center does offer a multi-disciplinary treatment approach that is designed for patients who have not responded to routine medical, surgical or passive therapy treatment programs. Our approach incorporates services from the areas of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, interventional anesthesiology, medical acupuncture, physical therapy, behavioral management, nursing, case management, and patient education.
What credentials will my doctor have?
Dr. Hemant Yagnick is good listener, who is also compassionate about what he does.
Will my visit be covered by my insurance?
It is a good idea to contact your insurance company to find out of specific aspects of pain management, which are covered under your policy.
Does the Pain Center conduct any Clinical Research Trials?
Yes. Clinical research is an integral part of the Pain Center.

Does the Headache Center offer a multi-disciplinary approach to treating headaches?

The Walton Headache Center, the only facility in the CSRA dedicated exclusively to evaluation and treatment of complex and difficult headache problems does offer a multi-disciplinary treatment approach, which incorporates services from the areas of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, interventional anesthesiology, medical acupuncture, physical therapy, behavioral management, nursing, case management, and patient education.

Dr. Marc Husid is a Board Certified Neurologist with over 20 years of experience.
Does the Headache Center conduct any Clinical Research Trials?
Yes, there has been a number of trials conducted by the Walton Headache Center.
