Patrick Williams, Psy.D.
Dr. Williams received his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Nova University (now Nova Southeastern University) in South Florida. He completed his internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Group Counseling in Boca Raton, Florida, specializing in the treatment of children identified to be “at risk” in low income housing projects in this area. Dr. Williams was also on staff at one medical hospital and two acute care rehabilitation facilities, as well as beginning a successful private practice in two South Florida locations. He left South Florida in June, 2005 to join the rehabilitation team at Walton and in February, 2006 achieved his certification as a Brain Injury Specialist through the National Brain Injury Credentialing Association. Dr. Williams has worked extensively with children, adult, and geriatric populations. He has worked in hospitals, acute care settings, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and in private practice. He has specialized in the areas of pain management, traumatic brain injury, panic disorder, anxiety, depression, and coping with post stroke depression as well as various other medical illnesses in hospital and acute care settings. He believes in maintaining the dignity of human life and facilitating each individual to grow and realize one’s own self-worth and maximum potential. He has a strong interest in rehabilitation psychology and being part of the multidisciplinary team at Walton that returns these patients as closely as possible to their optimal level of functioning. |
