Walton Amputee Program

The Walton Amputee Program is a comprehensive care continuum. Areas of focus include prevention, treatment, prosthetic fitting/training, pain management, follow-up care, support groups and education for people with amputations.

Among available treatment options, Inpatient Rehabilitation primarily focuses on optimal wound healing, skin care, mobility training, post-surgical care, prevention of contractures, maintenance and increase of strength and range of motion, and preparation of the residual limb for prosthetic wear.

Outpatient Rehabilitation focuses on the transition to prosthetic wear and more independent living. The process begins with prescription and fitting, and advances to gait training and community re-entry. Amputee Outpatient Rehabilitation Services include Walton Works and Orthopedic Rehabilitation.

Additional services to complement this program are Walton's Amputee Clinic, Amputee Support Group, Rehab Plus and adaptive Sports and Leisure program.
