Annual Walton Foundation for Independence Golf Classic
 
A great time was had by all at the 14th Annual Walton Foundation Golf Classic on Monday, September 18th, 2006. The field was full with 35 teams and140 players enjoying a beautiful fall day at Jones Creek Golf Club in Columbia County. Players were treated to goody bags filled with golf balls, tees, calculators, coozies, office supplies and goodies to eat while on the course. The Walton Golf Classic is known for its popular player gift which again this year was a pair of FootJoy EComfort golf shoes. An outstanding dinner/reception was catered by the Old Edgefield Grille. Traditional silver Paul Revere bowls were awarded to the three top teams.

First Place: Tim Strong, Clay Burckhalter, Jim Tygart, and Dr. William Rice

Second Place: Walker Sports Marketing Team: Noel Brown, Larry McCrary, Randy Godwin, and Randy Lamb

Third Place: UBS Financial Team: Cameron Brown, John Giangrande, Pat Perry, and Wallace Zealy

2006 was the largest and most successful Walton Foundation Golf Classic to date, netting over $60,000. A tournament of this caliber could never happen without the generous support of underwriters, sponsors, in-kind donors, players, and volunteers.
