Walton Foundation for Independence works to improve the quality of life of those affected by disabilities in the CSRA. Our mission is to restore hope and independence to those needing community support following temporary illness, injury or a life-changing disability.
Our services include sports and leisure programs, including adaptive golf and wheelchair tennis, a summer camp for children with traumatic brain injury, and a day program for those with disabilities; independent and supported living communities; and important life skills training.

 Open House Held for Planer Mill Village Expansion
Walton Community Services recently celebrated an Open House and Ribbon Cutting for our Planer Mill Village expansion. This expansion adds eight affordable and accessible apartment units for seniors in the Harlem, Ga. area, and has been built to meet green housing standards. The expansion was the first multifamily project in Columbia County to be certified under Enterprise Green Communities--and only the third such project in the state of Georgia.

Walton Community Services Breaks Ground on Green Housing for Persons With Disabilities
Walton Community Services recently held a groundbreaking for Walton Legacy Apartments, its 15th independent living community for persons with disabilities in the CSRA. Located in South Augusta, the new townhome complex will feature 11 fully accessible units, including wider doorways, roll-in showers and more. Read more>
